All poets read!!!

I would like to know ur opinions as poets as to what maybe you like to add to this section i am open to ideas maybe like a competition of some kind or like a poet of the week where i give facts and highlight poems from artist around the world just to spice up the section any ideas will be taken into consideration and of coarse will be discussed with liz or legion befor the idea can take place i appreciate all the drops in this forum and your all greatly appreciated!!!

I think the idea for the poet highlight is a good idea. It'd be good for some of these people to be educated on all the different types of poetry and poem styles that are out there. Also if nothing else it would give this place a little culture. However, the con to this would be that I feel you'd be wasting your time finding these poets and their works because let's face it people here aren't that good with feedback or viewing other peoples work if it doesn't come with a return viewing of their own work. Also they don't seem that interested in poetry. Not in its real form anyways.

I think the key to spicing up the forum would be to generate feedback, and the only way to generate feedback is to gather people who genuinely care about the art form, or people who are willing enough to take the time out of their "busy" lives to leave feedback on other peoples work even if that means they get close to nothing for feedback on their own pieces. In short, no offense to rap dome but this isn't the site for poetry. Most of the people who visit this site spend a majority of the time in chatbox. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but people here seem to be more concerned with chattin' it up than leaving feedback and helping other cats elevate.

As far as the tournament thing goes, Tournament/competitions always seem to bring out a surprising amount of people. For some reason this culture (hip hop), loves competition and show up for such where ever they can. However, the con to this would be appropriate voters. Half of these cats would know a Haiku from a Sonnet, never mind what makes them what they are.

i totally agree with everything your saying and i do think it would be some what of a waste of time to do some of the things but as a mod all i can do is my job and try and if it doesnt work then that is other people loss but atleast i would be doing something and some ppl would read the things posted and i do agree with the chat box thing alot of ppl do just come here to chat it up and its a shame

Ok here is something fun to do.

Lets have a poetry sale.

Drop your poems and if ppl like them not only do they feed but they can pay u with post counts for your work.

I can do the transaction or ashley can.

Ashley can set the prices for instance 2 lines 5 post given to the poet, 4 lines 10 post given to the poet...

Like a Bake Sale only its a Poet Sale...

Just an idea don't feel under any pressure to do this (yall know yall better do this) lol
